Welcome to the Marysville to Melbourne Multisport Challenge presented by The Difference… a race that starts in Victoria’s regional heartland and concludes at the very centre of Melbourne’s metropolis, combining the time honoured sports of trail running, road cycling and flat water paddling into one epic journey that will challenge amateurs and experts in equal measure from start to finish.
Welcome to the pre-eminent multisport race in Australia.
Tackle this lung busting 155km one day event and you will run through the beautiful Yarra Ranges with its towering tree ferns, cycle through Kinglake and surrounding towns on spectacular roads providing awe inspiring views to the city and then paddle on the serene Yarra River right into the heart of the metropolis at Melbourne’s Docklands. This is a race that provides physical challenge and personal reward as a classic crusade for teams and individuals. We welcome you to take up the challenge.
Start in the main street of Marysville with the following:
- 19km FootPro run
- 50km The Difference road ride
- 41km St Andrews road ride
- 14km Yarra trail run
- 15km Fitness Paddlers Australia River Paddle
- 16km Yarras Edge River Paddle
…through to the finish at Yarra's Edge at Docklands
The course is open to all levels of athletic ability and may be completed as an individual doing all legs or as a relay team of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 people.
The 2012 Marysville to Melbourne is presented by a unique charity organisation called The Difference who do some astounding work in support of the disadvantaged. With
society going backwards on indicators like child abuse and neglect, suicide, rates of reimprisonment, homelessness, public housing waiting lists and credit default – The Difference fund some superb programs to help right the wrong. Please click here to make a donation to their cause or read more.
